Hover

Hover is one of the absolute best domain registrars out there simply because of their simplicity. In fact, their motto is "we simplify domain management" and they are not kidding.

The domain management tool at Hover is the best of the best and they have two brief videos right on their homepage showing off the simplicity and the functionality of this tool. Whether it be individual or bulk domains, everything you need is easy to access.

Privacy from the WHOIS database is included with the purchase of a domain at Hover. Even better is the fact that they guide you through the process at any time if you want to change your information to public or private.

Registering bulk domains is possible at Hover but not quite as easy as it could be. Users can put multiple extensions into their basket before checking out but registering domain names containing entirely different keywords must be done separately.

Their interface has a section of quick updates that makes domain management easy with one or one thousand registered domains. DNS management is advanced through Hover but it doesn't have to be if users are more comfortable using the basic tools. Access levels, delegating, and hosting information is all readily available.

The pricing at Hover is a bit high but you get what you pay for in terms of management and customer service. Domain names start at $15 and go up to $90 per year depending upon the desired extension. They are very clear about their pricing at Hover with no coupons or sales.

Web hosting is not offered through Hover so if you are looking for a one-stop shop situation then this is not the place. However, they do connect you to an excellent host at Squarespace. They walk you through the process of designing and hosting your site with Squarespace, too.

The only thing that I do not like about Hover is their addition of mailboxes to a registered domain. They are really quite expensive costing up to $35 per year for just one mailbox. Many other registrars offer at least one mailbox for free. It is less expensive to renew a mailbox the following year but it still costs $20.

Overall, the uncomplicatedness and usability of this registrar is better than the rest. If you are willing to spend a little extra on mailboxes then this is the site to use.
