EasyName

The Easyname registry was created by Nessus Internet Diesntleistungs GmbH in 2007, located in Vienna, Austria. They are an ICANN-accredited registrar that also offers web hosting services.

Nessus was created in 1999 and is a privately held company under the management of Florian Schicker. They started out offering only hosting services, starting out with private customers and then branching into the business hosting niche. They own and operate their own datacenter in Vienna that is large enough to house more than 6,000 servers at present.

The company prides itself in giving its customers direct contact to them so that they could be sure the customer’s needs were met as fast as possible. The registry is small, compared to many others in the business, but had grown to 18,000 customers by the end of 2010 and continues to grow today. Upper management of the company consists of 8 personnel including management, operations, development, support and billing. Employment inside each department is presently unknown, but they seem to be well-staffed based on the rapid response time to support tickets.

All of the popular domains can be registered through the company, including the country TLD’s for a total of more than 100 domain extensions including:

.mobi, .tv, .fm, .pro, .ru, .vc, .vg, .ws

Nameeasy makes registration and management easy by offering bulk domain registration, free email, free web space and all the other features that customers have come to expect. Many registrars charge a fee for these additional services. The company also offers shared web hosting services, which is their signature service, providing service both to private customers as well as businesses. They also make it easy to buy from them since they accept major credit cards as well as PayPal.

At first glance, a person’s first thought would be that the registry is not the cheapest place to buy domains. However, the level of customer service and support that they provide makes them cheaper in the long run, since most hosting companies and registrars have turned to charging customers for support in order to boost their bottom line, something that should always come free when you are in a service-oriented business. Anyone who has had a website online for any length of time knows just how important customer service can be.
