Domain The Net

Domain the Net is a fairly simple domain registrar with all the necessities but lacking anything spectacular or unique. This site is easy to use and the interface is basic. There is nothing to complain about in terms of usability or functionality.

Private domains can be registered but they cost almost double what many other comparable domain registrar sites charge. It costs $19 to add WHOIS privacy when registering a domain which is the same price it costs to transfer a domain to Domain the Net.

Bulk registration is one thing that they do very well. It is easy to type in as many keywords as desired. However, there are no discounts for registering bulk domains. In fact, all domains appear to cost $18.99 to register but Domain the Net makes this a bit unclear. Since they do not offer many top level extensions this is probably the correct price.

Management is, once again, quite straightforward whether it be with one domain or bulk orders. There is nothing special and there are really no bells and whistles except that they specialize in advanced SSL and have tons of security options. If you are looking for web security pros this might be a great choice.

Domain the Net does have a variety of web hosting options ranging from about $6 to $50 per month depending upon the chosen option. It costs extra to add on e-mail at $10 per month. I like that they let you choose Windows or Linux hosting right off the bat.

One nice thing about Domain the Net is their brand security. They offer a variety of tools to help you protect your brand including backordering domains, anonymous escrow and negotiation, and name and web page monitoring. You can certainly feel safe and secure with your domains registered here.

I do not like the lack of TLDs at Domain the Net. They have some of the most popular domain extensions but they are seriously lacking in terms of diversity or variety. If you are looking for multiple extensions with the same keywords then this is probably not the best place to go.

Overall, this is an okay site. They are fully committed to brand protection and that is something that they do incredibly well at Domain the Net. However, outside of this one area of strength it is an uninspiring domain registrar that lacks personality and choice.
