Domain.com

Domain.com is a good option for domain registration but it is not the best that's out there. Their interface is easy to use and very intuitive and they provide all the basic services that you could want with a domain registration at mostly low costs. They also offer a la carte add-ons but are slightly lacking in terms of extensions that they offer. It is a basic domain registrar and terms of functionality it is quite good.

Private registration costs $9 per year at Domain.com which is a bit on the steep side in comparison to other registrars. They do automatically add on the private registration and the $9 when purchasing a domain unless the user makes the choice to register the domain name publicly.

Bulk registrations are available but only for 25 domain names at a time. Most other registrars allow between 50 and 100 so if you are looking to register a long list of domain names then this might not be the site for you. However, they do have a great tool to manage and sort bulk domains.

The access management system is straightforward. In fact, the entire domain management tool provided by Domain.com is excellent. The DNS management is web-based and allows users to quickly add, remove, or edit a variety of records. They guarantee that they update DNS files hourly which is unique. Most domain registrars simply promise to do it "in a timely manner".

Pricing is pretty much on par with other domain registrars but one thing that I like about it is that each extension has a cost that remains static. Other sites pricing can be a bit confusing with some .com options costing just $5 and others costing $500. With Domain.com, however, the prices for their extensions range from $3 to $20 per year. The only exception is for premium domains.

The only real con of Domain.com is it seems to be a bit tricky. What I mean is that when you go to purchase a web hosting package, it will automatically sign you up for a two year contract unless you have a keen eye and change it. Also, the price they provide is only for the first term then is almost doubles but they make that hard to spot. While it is still affordable and has some excellent features it just seems sneaky which is a turn off for me.

Overall, Domain.com absolutely gets the job done. In particular, it is ideal for those who are not concerned about price and wish to design an advanced and unique site as they offer a great website design package for just over $200.
