DNS Exit

This site started in 2001 and is a company based in Cincinnati, Ohio. From what their website shows, the mission of DNSExit.com is to provide their customers with the best free dynamic/custom DNS services around. I gave this long standing company a chance and here are my detailed results.

Usability
The user interface for creating a domain (and retrieving a domain) is very simple. Members of the site are given two tools to use and they are the DNS Express or the DNS Wizard. Each one does not require the user to be proficient in DNS (which is a plus in my book). DNS Express is for the novice user that has no experience setting up a website, while the other one is more tailored for the person that has set-up multiple DNS’s.

Domain Privacy
Domain privacy is given to the user when the domain registration confirmation email is sent. After that, the account holder can go change the WHOIS details (in real time) within the control panel.

Bulk Registrations
In this category DNSExit.com is very average when it comes to this. The site works better for registering domains one at a time rather than all at once.

Access Level and Delegating
DNSExit.com shines in this area due to the fact, that they give the user an option to retrieve a domain name from another registrar and then set-up the new account with them. The best part of this feature is that the transferring supports a good list of extensions like “.com”, “.net”, “.biz”, “.org”, “.info”, and “.us”.

Pricing and Coupons
The DNS Services that they provide are FREE so that’s good news for a new customer. Registering a domain name costs only 12.95 a year and compared to a 2 year domain registration with GoDaddy (.com domain 12.49) this falls short. The provider also has web hosting for as low as $2.95. Not to mention, the user can create an unlimited amount of email addresses for their site for only $24.99 a year (there is a 10 day trial to let the user figure out if the extra service is right for them).

Management Summary
DNSExit.com is the best pick for people who want to transfer their domain and get better DNS (static or dynamic) control. What I liked about the provider was "The FREE DNS controls", "Easy to use wizard", and "Very cheap web hosting". What I Disliked about the provider was that I "Cannot transfer domains of “.tv”, “.co”, and “.edu”", and "Registering the site is a bit costly".

If you are looking for a registrar with cheaper prices with lots of promo codes available, Go Daddy would probably be the next best option.
