BuyDomains

In terms of all available domain registrars BuyDomains.com leaves a lot to be desired. While it is certainly easy to use and does the job that it promises to do it is much more expensive than other domain registrar sites and I cannot determine why. In addition, this site is far from all-inclusive. You can buy a domain here but they do not offer hosting nor can you sell domains directly through BuyDomains.com. It is a very limited site.

Considering the fact that BuyDomains.com focuses only on users purchasing domain names, you would think that they would at least have the option to purchase bulk domains. Unfortunately, they have no way for users to search for, buy, or register bulk domain names. This is something that the site is really lacking.

The prices at BuyDomains.com are very high in comparison to other domain registrars. Most of the domains cost at least a couple hundred dollars. Even searching for a jumbled combination of words costs $250 because they require users to commit to a ten year registration fee. It is likely that many users will not want to commit to ten years so I am a bit flabbergasted as to why they do this. Other prices are not even shown and require users to request a price.

There is one thing that BuyDomains.com does do well. They have a list of available domain names that is exclusive to them and it is quite an impressive list. The industry leading domains are relevant to many businesses and it is not often that other domain registrars have such desirable domain names available. However, BuyDomains.com does not list the price of these premium names. You must request the price if interested and they are generally quite expensive.

Something that I really do not like about BuyDomains.com is the links to their partner websites. For example, if you click on the link for web hosting it brings you to another site. The same thing happens if you click on the link to sell domains. While there is nothing wrong with focusing solely on selling domains to users, it is inconvenient and a bit dishonest to send users to partner sites for all other aspects of domain management.

Overall, BuyDomains.com does not live up to its competitors. The site is easy to navigate and user-friendly but the service that it offers is limited and expensive. There is only one situation that I can see this site being helpful in and that is if you are looking for a very specific domain name that BuyDomains.com can help you find otherwise Go Daddy might be an easier and more cost efficient registrar.
